Futuro Desierto Concept Art and 3D Information Design

Futuro Desierto | Ep. 01
Under the artistic direction of Cornas Cavia, I worked as a concept artist for Netflix's sci-fi series Futuro Desierto. The core vision of the series was to create a sci-fi world that felt grounded in the present. My responsibilities included designing the exterior and interior concepts for Alex's Laboratory, creating 3D representations of HUDs featured throughout the series, such as a 3D representation of the ANBIS androids, and developing the visual identity of the Headquarters on Isla Nueva.

Supporting graphics, maps, and visual elements were also developed to enhance the HUDs.
All 3D assets were built in Blender.

The main idea was to create a monolithic building with Brutalist characteristics, made of cold and resistant materials with exposed concrete. It is designed to protect its interior rather than invite exploration: Closed off, with minimal openings. Its morphology resembles that of a cross. The vertical section of the cross functions as a structural element, acting as a pillar that supports the perpendicular volumes, which contain the program (offices, servers, etc.).
At the same time, the pillar serves as the circulation core, housing stairs and elevators that provide access to the different floors. The building sits on the terrain without altering its original morphology. This allows the land irregularities to cause the building to disappear into the mountainside, reappearing only in certain sections.
